Would you like to watch a video instead of reading? Click below!

So, first of all, let us start with the main question.

Should kids have laptops?

As with everything in life, Laptops have many pros and many cons. But if you teach your kids how to use the laptops correctly and beneficially they will prove to be the best investment you could probably make for your kid's life.

But you will have to teach your kids some basics, and show them how amazing computers are, and how they can find them useful. I would suggest by starting to tell them how they could find any information they would like to know on Google search and Youtube. This way you can build a very good habit in them and teach them how to be dependent and find whatever they need to know using today's amazing technology.

If they learn how to use google and youtube effectively, you will have them learning Amazing amounts of information about everything, the internet is the biggest library on the universe, and is the best and easiest way for gaining knowledge these days. And if you Instill great habits for kids, and teach them how to use it wisely, they will the best investment you could ever get for your kids.

And then there is the other side of the equation if they are always bored and you want to find them something fun to do, there are plenty of games and entertainment options on any laptop, just make sure not to get them hooked to it.

What makes laptops for kids good?

They can learn about anything in the world using the vast capabilities of the internet.

Learning how to type at a young age is a very good skill that can even be adopted by them playing video games, and chatting with their friends.

Video games even though they sound really bad and a waste of time, but if not overdone have many benefits, there are studies that prove children who play video games have better hand-eye coordination, and it can help them learn how to type, and communicate and play with a team, and make new friends. But you should make sure they don't get addicted, by monitoring how many hours they are allowed to spend on it. or negotiating deals like, if you do your homework or study then you get to play for X amount of time.

You could also negotiate with them that if they study or look at useful things online and learn things from youtube or read about things they get to play, there are really many ways. It's very important to teach children how to use technology these days in useful ways.

If they don't understand anything from school, you can teach them how to research it online and find very fun explanations and help them understand anything on their own.

A way to socialize with their friends may be playing video games all the time, and if they don't join in they may feel left out. just make sure they don't get addicted.

They learn how to solve their problems and be independent, and they can gain influence from the most successful people in the world.

Most school homework these days is in the form of presentations, and printing out things for projects, photos, and some advanced schools have online homework. And its the best research tool for any type of homework they are struggling with understanding or solving.

Are your kids creative?

The best thing you could possibly do is find some type of software they might be interested in, and show them how to learn it on youtube or google, and they may gain information on how to do software programming, video editing, photo editing, 3D Design, Architectural Design, Animation, and literally anything online with a quick search.

When kids are still young their brain learns Extremely fast, and if you help them find something they are interested in from a young age, they will become incredibly skillful at it. and will invest there time in learning how to use all the new technologies towards something useful.

They don't have to be 20 years old to learn how to use complicated software, you would be surprised how your children would be interested in doing things older people do and how it challenges them and makes them try outperform people 4 times their age.

Challenge is very good for kids and they will learn how to tackle all sorts of things in their life when they can tackle all the problems they might face creating things whether it is programming, graphic design, architectural design, physics software, and Video Editing.

Just don't push on them, show them what can be created with such amazing programs, and let them decide to learn them.

If you can get your kids addicted to their laptops in a healthy way (doing creative beneficial things), you are setting them up for future success in life. Also, whenever kids ask about a problem on their laptops, don't just solve it for them, walk them through the process of finding it on google so they can learn to solve it themselves.

The best laptop-style for kids?

Okay, this is going to depend on many factors, but I generally recommend getting a good option that will last your kids many years and will make them capable of using them for useful things, without them deciding to forget about it because it's laggy and won't be able to run their new favorite design software. Or of course their games.

Also if your kids are into gaming you want definitely want to gravitate towards gaming laptops, otherwise, they are going to run into overheating problems, as they weren't built for intensive gaming.

You also don't have to spend a fortune on a laptop, as long as you teach your kids what they can do with the laptop after they get it. they will use it to its fullest and get so many benefits out of it.

But usually, when buying tech, every extra penny you spend helps in the long run, meaning you won't have to buy them a new one in the future because they are too bad. I will try including laptops for all budgets to make sure you find what suits your needs.

What OS (Operating-System) is best for kids?

There are many operating systems on pcs these days like windows 10, mac, chrome os, and Linux.

Okay, so each of these operating systems has its advantages and disadvantages.

Chrome OS made by Google is getting more popular every day and is a very good choice. Mac Pcs generally cost a lot and are not geared towards kids however are still a good option. Windows pcs are a very good option, the only downside is it's easy for them to get viruses and are not as easy to navigate as Chrome OS, so generally, for kids, Chrome OS is the more simply kid-friendly option.

Okay and if you want to get parental controls, or are giving a laptop to very young people and want to protect them from the harmful content that's on the internet and the ads and all that stuff, there are plenty of kids Softwares you can download and install, and you can even install Operating systems made for kids like Doudou Linux and other OS. You can learn more here.

You should definitely check out programs to install that make sure they are safe from potentially harmful ads and inappropriate content for their age. And there are also many monitoring programs to monitor your kid's behavior online.

What things do I consider when purchasing kids a laptop?

Processor If your child wants to work with artistic programs, or graphical design programs, or music software, or play video games you would definitely need to look into a good processor. Otherwise, what's on most laptops is more than convenient. I will make sure to include a laptop with both ends of the world, and I will mention them below.

Ram You would generally want to go for 4GB or more these days however 8GB is more than enough for almost any applications or games they may want to use, and the best bet is 8GB it means they won't have any problems and need to upgrade later on. But if they won't be using any software, or playing any games then 4GB is generally enough.

Audio Generally audio is not really a problem with laptops, usually, laptops come with good enough audio for general use, and if you found the audio to be a problem you can always invest in headphones or speakers. However, most laptops have acceptable audio. If you want to get them a good set of budget headphones check these out, it will make sure they aren't too noisy if that bothers you.

Video-card This depends on the purpose, graphical software, and games will usually need a good video card, however, for general use, the built-in video-card that's included with most processors will definitely do the job.

Battery-life depending on whether your child will need long battery life, this might be an important factor for you.

Storage space Unless your child requires large storage capabilities for school projects or photos and videos, most standard hard drives will cover their needs. Usually, between 32 GBS and 128GBS are good options(If they play games or need many programs and software you will rather go for more space like 500 GBs) There are also different types of storage in laptops: There are SSDs and there are HDDs, basically, SSDs tend to be more expensive and much faster than HDDs they make the pc boot up faster and make files and programs load faster than they would with an HDD. They are not a must but they make everything faster, so it's up to you. They don't affect performance.

And don't forget you can always buy an external hard drive if needed to extend the space of storage on the laptop. Even USB-Flash drives go up to 128 GBs these days.

Durability Okay I have to admit. Laptops are not made to be dropped on the floor all the time, so you have to make sure your kids are very careful with them and treat them like a baby. But drops can happen no matter how careful you are, especially when kids are always excited and running around. Thankfully you have a solution for that, there are shock absorbers, and you should definitely invest in a carrying bag for the laptop or cushioned carrying case.

Size Laptop sizes can vary for kids, you can either get a very small laptop for your small kids but the only downside is that it means you will have to upgrade in the future when they get older. so id says stick to a medium-size and usually, kids who play video games would prefer a larger screen. However, medium-sized screens should do the job. And if you don't mind upgrading it when they get older, you could always go for a small laptop that will suit their smaller hands and will help them carry it around with ease without dropping it because it's too heavy.

Weight This is not the biggest deal, but usually heavier laptops sustain more damage when they are dropped, so a lighter laptop will mean a less likely broken laptop.

You could also get them a 2- In 1 laptop that doubles as a touch screen tablet, and a laptop. They are a little more expensive than your average laptop because they have a touch screen and mechanisms to make them 2- in 1 but they are a very good investment and are definitely worth it.

So I will be covering all categories of kids il try to make it simple and will provide you with all the information you may need for your purchase.

Cons

  • Weigh 2.2 KG

Its top of the range processor makes it super-fast to access and to use. Word documents, games and programs take seconds to open on here. Storage is great and it has both HDD & SSD.

The dedicated GPU (GTX 1050) makes it an amazing choice for gaming and can run almost every game that most kids play these days with no problems whatsoever. It's very high Value considering you get the Gtx1050 at such a low price on a laptop.

The keys are sort of fluorescent making them easy to spot at night, and making them give a more "gamer" look, which your children will definitely love. And the black and fluorescent green makes them very desirable and cool for kids' tastes.

A very high-quality product, that will withstand hours and years of gaming without any hiccups and is really an investment that pays off its duties very well.

If my kid was a gamer this would definitely be the choice I would get, because of its ability to run anything your kid will want to play. And it's very future proof with the high specs it has, meaning you won't need an upgrade in 3 years.

So instead of going for a cheaper option, and then having to upgrade later when all technology is newer and game requirements are higher, I definitely suggest this as a good future proof option. And if you can you should definitely go for the Gtx1060 version of this laptop as that's even better all-around and has many improvements to all specs.

Best of all is the fact that it has upgradable storage and upgradable ram. so if your kids ever needed and upgrade you can easily add ram or more space, however, 8GB of ram And 1TB HDD is usually way more than enough. Just a cool extra feature for the future.

And if you are also looking for a good gaming headset to go with it check this
